The word ‘bodhichitta’ means ‘awake heart’. When we practice bodhichitta, then, we are practicing awake heart. We are deepening our relationship with a heart that is unconditionally open and warm, knowing and responsive. We are, in even broader terms, more fully inhabiting our human inheritance, who we truly are. And we are developing our capacity to bring this inheritance into the world.

About the Weekend

The somatic bodhichitta practices of the Dharma Ocean lineage, offer a comprehensive exploration of the human heart. This begins with us developing our connection with the openness of the heart, with its direct, non-conceptual knowing of all that is. This openness – which is also known as ultimate or absolute bodhichitta – will be our focus through these two days together.

As always, this all-level, all-tradition workshop mixes guided meditation and group discussion. Participants are advised to wear warm, comfortable clothing, and to bring a blanket and mat to lay on. Should participants have a meditation cushion or bench, these are recommended – otherwise, chairs will be available.

The workshop will take place from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm each day, with a 90 minute midday break for lunch, a walk in the neighbourhood or just relaxing.
